Emergency Call
An emergency call is any request for ambulance service deemed a medical
emergency, also known as Code 1. An example is a patient who is not
breathing or unresponsive. The closest ambulance is assigned immediately
and lights and sirens are used while it is dispatched.
Non-Emergency Call
A non-emergency call is any request for ambulance service not deemed to
be a medical emergency, also known as Code 2. An example is a patient
who is alert and breathing normally but is experiencing vomiting or
non-traumatic pain. The closest ambulance is assigned immediately but
lights and sirens are not used while en route to the location.
Patient Transfers
A patient transfer is when an ambulance transports a patient to or from
hospitals and other health care facilities. Scheduled calls are those
that provide advanced notice of a need to transfer a patient while
unscheduled calls do not.
Please note: Normally, the data on our website is updated on a monthly basis. Following a dispatch system upgrade in January 2023, work has been required to ensure an accurate transition of the data from the previous system. As soon as this process has been completed, we will update the website accordingly and return to our practice of posting data on a regular basis as it becomes available.
