Flight Nurse

At 27,000 feet in the sky, moving at 300 mph, with two pilots flying the plane – our flight nurses are caring for some of the most critically-ill patients in the province.

They work under challenging conditions because every situation can be critical without the amenities of a hospital or support staff. Aboard our air ambulance, timing is everything.

Our flight nurses have a broad scope of practice with a high level of autonomy and independence. They receive ongoing training to maintain a high degree of clinical competence. ANB employs full-time, part-time and casual flight nurses.

Successful applicants are provided with a complete Flight Nurse Training Program and should:

  • Demonstrate advanced clinical and critical thinking
  • Have experience in Critical Care/ICU/Emergency Room setting
  • Maintain a high regard for confidentiality and advocacy for patients
  • Possess the ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Must be flexible and adapt easily in a dynamic environment
